FANTASTIC EASTER SUNDAY IN THE PARK

The rain held off just long enough!  Almost 100 kids did our annual easter trail yesterday.  Faces were painted and eggs were rolled across the playing field in four races that will definitely become a regular fixture in the event.  Thanks to M&S and Waitrose for the chocolate and Barclays for the pens!

The water is back in action!

The temporary pump has been switched on and the park has come alive with the sound of the waterfalls.  Amazing how much of a difference it makes. Welcome back, water feature!

Digging deep

The Parks Dept hit a snag trying to install the new park and picnic benches in the playing field.

When digging, they hit the concrete foundations of the Stationers School that used to sit on the park site. They are finding a solution and we should have our new benches imminently.

keep a look out for them!

Running Man

Local dad Simon Heale is running the London Marathon for Stationers Park!!!

Please sponsor Simon in this fabulous effort, all MUCH NEEDED funds raised go towards new features in the park!

We got a new playground last year but we still need funding to realise the entire design. Friends of Stationers Park is also aiming to change all the seating to chunky cedar, in keeping with the natural feel of the park. We'll make the most of Simon's bounty to make our wonderful park even better!

SPONSOR SIMON NOW AND THANKS!!! Simon Heale is fundraising for Groundwork South West.

Fundraising Success

Thanks to a successful fundraising bid to Making The Difference and a donation from Friends of Stationers Park, new park benches will replace the tired old ones in the children's playing field.

The benches will be more traditional than the ones in the playground but be made of the same chunky cedar wood. An extended table will also have a space for wheelchair users (or a baby buggy!) The seating will be installed in the next few weeks for all to enjoy.
